ACS Scholars Program

The Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation has supported the American Chemical Society (ACS) Scholars Program since 1999.

The ACS Scholars Program provides for multi-year scholarships, along with mentoring, to support talented undergraduate students that come from ethnic and racial groups that have been historically underrepresented in the chemical sciences. Awardees are eligible to receive up to $5,000 in scholarship funding per year.

Since inception, the ACS Scholars Program has awarded more than $20 million in support of talented students pursuing a degree in the chemical sciences. The success of this program is underscored by the fact that awardees achieve a remarkable 90% overall graduation rate, with 80% remaining in the chemical sciences. Many also choose to further pursue a graduate degree.

Additional information on this program, including application guidelines, can be found on the ACS website.
