A Legacy of Awards
The Foundation has made over 3,500 awards since it was established in 1946, with more than 110 made in 2007. Awards are approved at the quarterly meetings of the Board of Directors and are announced at the end of the months indicated:
January: Special Grant Program in the Chemical Sciences and Senior Scientist Mentor Program
April: Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program
July: New Faculty Awards and Faculty Start-up Awards Programs
October: Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program, Postdoctoral Program in Environmental Chemistry, and the Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Undergraduate Scholarships for Excellence in Chemistry
The ACS Award for Encouraging Disadvantaged Students into Careers in the Chemical Sciences and The ACS Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences, both sponsored by the Foundation, are announced by the American Chemical Society, typically in September.
